Hen Events
Organising a hen event can be a complicated and time consuming affair and can be quite daunting if you've
never had to do it before.
Don't underestimate the job in hand and remember the more people you invite, the more complicated the
planning will get - more people to chase for availability, more rooms to book etc, etc
. but don't let
this put you off! Just keep in mind our following tips and you won't be tearing your hair out...
Allow Plenty of Time for Planning
At least 3 months before the big event is recommended and probably earlier still if you are thinking
about going abroad.
Schedule the Event for At Least a Couple of Weeks before the Wedding
If you are considering events such as paint-balling or clay pigeon shooting you should allow time for
any bruising to disappear- otherwise it won't look great in the wedding photos!
Try To Keep Everybody Happy
Choose events that firstly the bride will enjoy but also try to bear in mind the tastes of those attending.
Hen events are not cheap these days especially if they involve travel and accommodation so you don't
want anybody to resent forking money out for things they just won't enjoy doing. 'Ladies who lunch'
will probably enjoy a spa session more than an afternoon astride a quad bike!
Read Up On Your Venue
Whatever location or activity you decide on, make sure you do your homework on where and what you are
doing. If you are having a big night out, read up on the pubs and clubs and double-check door policies
especially if you are dressing up. You may also need to think about arranging transport between venues
beforehand especially if there is a large group of you as we know how much you girls hate walking in
heels...
Finally Enjoy Yourself!
The hard work is done, the bride and hens look like they are having a great time
go to the bar and
order yourself a Long Island Ice Tea
and congratulate yourself on a great job!
